Five of the people who fell in the well in the Lal Pathar area in Ganjbasoda of Vidisha are still missing. He could not be traced even after 20 hours of rescue operation. So far the bodies of 8 people have been recovered. The biggest problem in the rescue is the friable land and frequent water filling of the well.
400 people of NDRF, SDRF and police-administration are engaged in the rescue work. 40 feet of land has been dug around the well with the help of 3 JCBs, so that people can be found quickly. Three ambulances have also been kept ready at the spot. However, the chances of anyone surviving after 24 hours of the accident are very slim.
