Petrol and diesel prices in the country increased once again on Thursday. In the financial capital Mumbai, a liter of petrol is being expensive by 35 paise and is being sold at Rs 107.54. At the same time, diesel is also getting expensive by 15 paise and is being sold at Rs 97.45.
According to the official website of state-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the prices of petrol and diesel have reached a record high in most cities of the country. On Thursday, the price of one liter of petrol across the country increased by 31-39 paise.
Petrol prices hit record high in major cities
Petrol has crossed Rs 100 in the capital Delhi. Here one liter of petrol is being sold at Rs 101.54. Similarly, it is selling at Rs 102.23 in Chennai and Rs 101.74 per liter in Kolkata. Apart from this, the price of petrol in Bangalore has also increased by 36 paise to Rs 104.94.
Diesel prices also hiked
Like petrol, diesel prices are also on fire. The price of this fuel, which is the most used in the country, increased on July 15, which was reduced on July 12. According to the report, the price of one liter of diesel in Mumbai today increased by 16 paise to Rs 97.45. Similarly, increase by 15 paise in Delhi and Chennai.
Talking about the current financial year, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 8.85 per liter. Diesel was selling here at Rs 80.87 on 1st April, which is now selling at Rs 89.72 on 15th July. Similarly, the price of petrol also increased from Rs 90.56 to Rs 101.19. Meaning petrol has become costlier by Rs 10.63 in three and a half months.

Oil marketing companies fix the rates of petrol and diesel daily after reviewing the prices. Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise the rates of petrol and diesel at 6 am.
