The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has released the data regarding Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and National Pension System (NPS). Under this, there has been an increase of 24% in the number of people joining these schemes in the last 1 year (till 30 June 2021). With this, the number of subscribers in various schemes under the National Pension System (NPS) has increased to 4.35 crore. In the same period a year ago, the number of subscribers associated with both the schemes was 3.59 crore.
Assets Under Management also increased by 33%
According to PFRDA, the total pension assets under management (AUM) as on June 30, 2021 stood at Rs 6.17 lakh crore, which shows a 32.67% year-on-year growth. The number of subscribers under Atal Pension Yojana has increased by 33.95% to 2.88 crore as of June 30.

Under Atal Pension Yojana, a pension of 1000 to 5000 rupees is available every month on attaining 60 years of age. In this, a person from 18 years to 40 years can invest in it. If a person takes this scheme, then he will have to invest at least 20 years.
To join the scheme, it is necessary to have a savings bank account, Aadhar and an active mobile number. To get a pension of 1 to 5 thousand rupees per month, the subscriber will have to pay 42 to 210 rupees per month.
NPS is also a great option
Any person from 18 to 60 years can join the National Pension Scheme (NPS). Any individual can contribute regularly to the pension account during his/her working life. He can also withdraw a part of the accumulated money in one go and use the remaining amount to get regular income after retirement.
