In the Corona period, new records are constantly being made in the country in terms of business. Now a record has also been made in company registration in the country. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, a total of 16,662 companies have been registered in June 2021. There has been an increase of 26% in company registrations as compared to the same period a year ago. This indicates that despite the second wave of Corona, the perception of becoming a businessman in the country has got a boost.
Growth of 16.7% compared to May
According to the data of the ministry, out of the total companies registered in June 2021, 12,722 are new companies. There are 3,940 Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs). The ministry says that LLP is a very flexible vehicle for the service sector. According to the data, there has been a growth of 16.7% in company registration in June as compared to May. A total of 14,269 companies, including new companies and LLPs, were registered in May. In June 2020, 13,227 companies were registered. This included 10,954 new companies and 2,273 LLPs.
Highest registrations in Business Services segment
According to the data, in June 2021, the business services segment has the highest number of 29% companies registered. There are 3,684 companies registered in this segment. It is followed by the manufacturing segment with 20% participation (2,621 companies). Health and Social Work ranks third with 15% participation, ie 1942 companies registered. There are 1487 companies or 12% registrations in trading. The share of agriculture and allied segments has been 7%. A total of 907 companies have been registered in this segment.
Maharashtra tops in company registration
Maharashtra has topped in company registration in June 2021. Last month, 2,521 companies were registered in Maharashtra. Uttar Pradesh has been ranked second with 1,325 companies registered. Delhi has been ranked third with 1,293 companies registered. Maharashtra accounted for 19.82%, Uttar Pradesh 10.42% and Delhi 10.16% of the total registrations.
Now 13.76 lakh active companies in the country
According to the data of the ministry, so far 21 lakh 87 thousand, 026 companies have been registered in the country. Out of this, now 13 lakh 76 thousand 366 companies are active. Other companies have closed due to various reasons or are not active due to other legal processes. The business services segment is also at the top among active companies. Now 4 lakh 34 thousand 248 companies are active in this segment. At the same time, 2 lakh 78 thousand 229 companies are active in the manufacturing segment. There are 1 lakh 76 thousand 221 companies active in the trading segment. There are 1 lakh 11 thousand 583 companies active in construction.
Registration of 1.47 lakh companies in the last financial year
According to the data released by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in June, 1 lakh 47 thousand 247 new companies were registered in the financial year 2020-21. In the last financial year, 11,037 in agriculture and allied sector, 6,934 in health and social work segment, 4,476 in education segment, 7,525 in food products and beverages, 9,514 in wholesale trade, 6,689 in retail trade, 1906 new companies in recreation and sports segment was registered.
