Thal Singh, infamous in drug smuggling, whose property has been attached by the police.
In Amritsar, on Wednesday, the police seized property worth 1.27 crores of international smuggler Thal Singh. The accused had once served a 10-year jail term for smuggling heroin and was arrested again as soon as he came out. During the investigation, the police of Police Station B Division has attached his property worth 1.27 crores and sent it to the NDPS Act Competitive Authority located in Delhi.
According to the information received, Tahal Singh, originally a resident of Kasba Patti in Tarn Taran district, had reached the national level in Kabaddi. After this he got a job in the railways as TTE, but he came in contact with smugglers and started doing drug business. At present his residence is New Pratap Nagar of Amritsar.
Tahal Singh was arrested by the State Special Operations Cell on 18 March 2010 with one kg of heroin. In this case, he was imprisoned for 10 years and fined Rs 1 lakh. After this, the police of Thana B Division arrested Tahal Singh on August 1, 2019 and recovered 265 grams of heroin, 300 grams of opium, 1 pistol of 32 bore and drug money of Rs 2 lakh. In this case, the police have seized his property.
In this regard, Police Commissioner Dr. Sukhchain Singh Gill says that the case of Punjab’s infamous heroin and drug smuggler Tahal Singh was sent to Delhi by SHO Gurvinder Singh of Police Station B Division. He has issued instructions to the District Goods Officer to confiscate the property of Tahal Singh under the rules of the goods department. After this, the police has started the process of seizing the property worth Rs 1.27 crore of the accused.
