Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Monday said that he will work closely with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. So that Nepal’s relations with India can be strengthened. The relationship between the people of both the countries can also be strengthened. Deuba has expressed her intention on social media in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s congratulatory message.
Deuba is 75 years old. He is counted among the pro-India Nepali leaders. In view of the constitutional and political crisis in Nepal, the Supreme Court there had directed to appoint him as the Prime Minister. After this, on July 13, the President administered the oath of office to him.
Deuba also won the trust vote in Parliament on 18 July by 165 votes to 83. After this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent him a congratulatory message on Sunday night itself, to which he replied immediately. Significantly, India-Nepal relations have been strained during the tenure of Prime Minister KP Sharma ‘Oli’, who was the head of the Left coalition government. Border disputes, map disputes, sporadic skirmishes between the security forces on the border took place in both the countries during this period.
