Two days before the home series against India, the Sri Lankan team has suffered a setback. Former team captain and star batsman Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the series due to a shoulder injury. According to cricket website Cricinfo, Kusal Perera is set to be ruled out of the series against India as he has suffered a shoulder injury and doctors have advised him to rest for 6 weeks. Perera was the captain of the Sri Lanka ODI team on the tour of England, but due to a central contract d ispute between the players and the board, Dasun Shanaka has been appointed as India’s captain for the series against India.


Sri Lanka series dates extended by 5 days
A 3-3 match ODI and T20 series is to be played between India and Sri Lanka. It will start from 18th July. Earlier this series was to start from July 13, but after the corona virus cases were reported in the Sri Lankan team, its date was extended by 5 days. Also, its timing has also been changed.

Scored a half century against England
Perera scored a half-century in the ODI series against England. In the entire series, only three batsmen were successful in scoring half-centuries for Sri Lanka. Perera has scored 3,071 runs in 107 ODIs played so far. While 1,347 runs have been scored in 50 T20 matches.

Dhawan was made the captain and Bhuvneshwar as the vice-captain.
Shikhar Dhawan has also been handed over the captaincy of Team India. At the same time, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be seen playing the role of Deputy Captain.
