Gopal is accused of firing at Jamia Millia Islamia students protesting against the Citizenship Act (CAA) in January 2020.
Gopal Sharma, who came into the limelight after firing outside Jamia in Delhi, has been arrested by Haryana Police in another case of hate speech. Gopal is alleged to have given a hate speech against Muslims in a mahapanchayat held at Ramlila Ground in Pataudi in Gurugram on July 4.
Gopal is accused of firing at Jamia Millia Islamia students protesting against the Citizenship Act (CAA) in January 2020. It was caught by Delhi Police at that time. Then the picture of Gopal firing went viral on social media.
If Muslims are killed, they will shout the name of Lord Ram.
It is being told that in some cities of Delhi-NCR and UP, a Mahapanchayat was called on 4th July for the conversion of deaf and deaf students to religion, love jihad. On behalf of Hindu organizations, this Mahapanchayat was called and protested against the change of religion. During this, Gopal Sharma gave a controversial statement in the Mahapanchayat.
Gopal had said in the Mahapanchayat that if people of any community harass your daughters, then treat their daughters and sisters in the same way. The video of Gopal’s speech had gone viral, in which he was seen advocating violence against Muslims. He had even said in his speech that when Muslims were killed, they would shout the name of Lord Ram.
Gopal was arrested and sent to custody
DCP Manesar Varun Singla said on Monday that Gopal has been arrested and sent to judicial custody. The matter is being investigated. Gopal is said to be a resident of Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar. His father runs a paan shop in the village itself.
According to the police, a case has been registered against Gopal on the complaint of Dinesh of Jamalpur village. The complainant has demanded action in the matter by giving the links of two videos viral on YouTube to the police. On which an FIR has been registered in Pataudi police station under sections 153A and 295A of IPC. There was no complaint against Gopal, so the police had not acted on him till now.
