A consortium of 17 media organizations around the world has claimed that governments around the world are spying on journalists and activists. According to the report published on Sunday, governments in many countries including India spied on about 180 journalists, human rights activists and activists.
For this the hacking software Pegasus of the Israeli company NSO Group was used. In this report, at least 38 people have been claimed to be spied in India. Because of this, the central government is on the target of the opposition. Let us tell you that when PM Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and Amit Shah was the Home Minister of the state, even then he was accused of phone tapping of politicians and officials in Gujarat many times.
Apart from Gordhan Zadafia, presently General Secretary of Gujarat BJP and anti-Modi at that time (2005), Congress leaders Arjun Modhwadia, Shaktisinh Gohil and Shankersinh Vaghela also demanded a probe in the phone tapping case leveling serious allegations against Modi and Amit Shah. . Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also demanded an inquiry by the Women’s Commission in 2016 against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah in the spying case of a Gujarati woman.

Gordhan Zadafia accused of taping in 2005
Gordhan Zadafia had alleged that his phone was tapped by the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. This has happened when, in 2005, a cabinet meeting was being held for the expansion of the Narendra Modi cabinet. Meanwhile, Gordhan Zadafiya had refused to accept the post of the ministry, saying that Narendra Modi is conspiring against me and getting my phones tapped.

Late Haren Pandya’s phone was tapped: Gohil
The second case dates back to 2011, when Congress leader Shaktisinh Gohil alleged that Modi and Amit Shah had tapped the phones of several leaders including Haren Pandya. However, the then BJP state spokesperson Vijay Rupani (now the Chief Minister of Gujarat) challenged Gohil to provide proof. Rupani also said that the central government has the right to tap the phone and if the Gujarat government is getting the phone taped, then why does the Congress government at the center not disclose it?
Cobra Post accused of tapping a girl’s phone in 2013
Apart from this, in 2013 itself, during the rule of Narendra Modi, news portals Cobra Post and Catapult had presented audio of the conversation between former Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah and ATS SP GL Singhal in Ahmedabad. It was alleged that Amit Shah had ordered Singhal to give every minute information of an architecture girl. There was a ruckus across the country regarding this and a demand was also made by the Congress to investigate against it.

Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the Women’s Commission
Not only this, in 2016, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to the National Commission for Women (NCW) against PM Modi and Amit Shah, demanding an inquiry into the Gujarat women espionage case. In his letter to the chairman of the National Commission for Women, Kejriwal had said, “I am also attaching documents and digital evidence related to how Modi and Shah spied on a young woman.” So I urge you to initiate an investigation and take all possible action against them.
