England has announced a squad of 17 members for the first two matches of the five-Test series against India starting on August 4. Fast bowler Jofra Archer and all-rounder Chris Woakes are not included in this. Both these players are battling with injuries.

Stokes did not play against New Zealand
All-rounder Ben Stokes has returned to the England Test team. He did not play in the two-Test series against New Zealand in June. Stokes was recovering from injury at the time.
