The Central Government informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that in the second wave of Corona, no one died due to lack of oxygen in the country. Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that according to the reports of the states and union territories, no patient died due to lack of oxygen during the second wave of corona.
Mandaviya also said that we did not pressure any state to tamper with the data related to Corona. The job of the central government is only to collect and publish the data from the states. We have never asked any state to tamper with the data. There is no reason to do so. The Prime Minister had said the same thing in the meeting with the Chief Ministers also.
Mandaviya was replying to a question raised by Congress MP KC Venugopal. Venugopal questioned the government in the House that a large number of corona patients have died in the streets and hospitals. This happened because of the lack of oxygen during the second wave.
Central government provided full help to the states
Minister of State for Health Dr Bharti Praveen Pawar said that health system is a state subject. Even after this, the central government has helped him a lot. Oxygen supply has been provided to all the states. Dr. Bharti said that in the first wave of corona, 3095 metric tonnes of oxygen was required daily, while in the second wave, 9000 metric tonnes of oxygen was required daily. The Center had prepared a good framework to deliver oxygen to the states.
What did the health minister say on the third wave?
Talking about the third wave, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said in the Rajya Sabha that along with 130 crore people, all the state governments should also take a pledge that we will not allow the third wave to come in the country. Our resolve and the guidance of Prime Minister Modi can save us from the third wave.
This is the time to work together. The central government did not tell any state whether you worked or not. We do not want to politicize this issue. Mandaviya also said that we are getting 11-12 crore doses of Covishield every month from Serum Institute.
