A case of rape was registered against T-Series Managing Director Bhushan Kumar at DN Nagar police station in Mumbai on Friday. A 30-year-old woman accused Kumar of rape. The woman says that Bhushan raped her by taking her to different places by luring her to work in his project. According to the woman, these incidents took place from 2017 to 2020. In this case, the police registered a case against Bhushan Kumar under sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating) and 506 (threatening) of the IPC.
After this, T-Series issued an official statement on the matter keeping its side and termed the allegations against Bhushan Kumar as baseless and said that all these allegations have been made with the intention of collecting money by blackmailing. T-Series had also submitted some evidence on its behalf to the police, after which on the basis of the evidence, the police has registered an FIR against the local leader of Mumbai Mallikarjuna Pujari and the woman who made the allegation.
Mallikarjuna had made a plan to recover money with the woman
According to media reports, it is being told that Thane leader Mallikarjuna Pujari, along with the woman, hatched a plan to extort money by blackmailing film producer and T-Series chairman Bhushan Kumar. Mallikarjuna had approached Bhushan Kumar in June 2021 and demanded money from him.
Threatened to implicate in false rape case
Mallikarjuna had also threatened Bhushan Kumar that if he did not get the money, the woman would file a false case of sexual harassment against him. Subsequently, Bhushan Kumar lodged a written complaint against Mallikarjuna at Amboli, police station on July 1.
After this, around July 5, Bhushan Kumar’s uncle Krishna Kumar had met Mallikarjuna but he still did not agree and threatened to get a case of sexual harassment again. Krishna Kumar had not given the money to Mallikarjun only after which the woman lodged a case of rape against Bhushan Kumar in the police at the behest of Mallikarjuna.
After this, Krishna Kumar, without delay, immediately presented an audio recording in Amboli police station as evidence in which Mallikarjuna is clearly demanding money. Taking immediate action, the police registered an FIR against Mallikarjuna and the woman under sections 386, 500, 506 and 506(2) of the IPC for implicating in a false rape case and extorting money by threatening.
