The country’s largest dairy brand Amul has a turnover of 39,248 crores in the financial year 2020-21. Although the business of its entire group has crossed Rs 53 thousand crores. This is the record business ever in the history of the company. On the other hand, sales of its dairy products have declined.

Last year had a turnover of 38,542 crores

Amul’s turnover last year was Rs 38,542 crore. It aims to double the revenue to Rs 1 lakh crore by 2025. At present it is the 8th largest milk producer company in the whole world. In 2012 it was at number 18. In fact, due to the lockdown in the epidemic, the consumption of dairy products in homes increased. Due to this there has been a boom in the business of the company. Its total members have achieved 14% growth in milk procurement in 2021. It handles 40 lakh liters of milk per day.

Sales of packaged products increased

Its packaged consumer business, which consists of milk, cheese, butter and ice cream, has been selling more during the times of Corona. These products compete with the big companies of the country like Britannia and Hindustan Unilever. These products are growing at the rate of 8.1% annually. The company is celebrating 75th anniversary this year. It had its 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday.

Impact on sales of used products

The company said that during the pandemic, there has been an impact on the sales of products used outside homes. That’s why the company focused on the products used in homes. For this, it revamped its supply chain far and wide and focused on online sales. It also worked in home delivery as well.

Immunity boost product was launched

The company said that during Corona, it had launched a product with a lot of immunity boost in the initial wave. Amul’s dairy products declined because hotels and restaurants remained closed during this period. Due to which their demand decreased. Last month itself, the company had increased the prices of all its milk by Rs 2 per litre. Milk prices have been increased for the first time since December 2019.
