Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday virtually interacted with the players of UP who have got a chance to participate in the Tokyo Olympics. During the interaction, Yogi assured the players that he would meet their needs in every way possible and would pay attention to their demands. The CM said that two shooting ranges would be set up in Lucknow and Varanasi and he would soon meet the players and their parents to understand their needs.
The government is busy taking forward the intention of the PM
Yogi said that the young generation gets a lot of energy from you people. I wish you all the best for the Tokyo Olympics. Hope you guys will give good news for the country from there. It has always been the intention of the PM that the players should always be promoted and get a platform from the government. Along with the central government, the state government is also making efforts in this direction. We are engaged in taking the Khelo India Khelo campaign forward in rural areas.
Know 10 players of UP, who will show their strength in the Olympics-
Every village should have a playground
The CM said that I had already told the Sports Department that five departments including the Sports Department, Panchayat Department are trying together to ensure that there should be a playground in every village. The use of the money of that village should be made to construct an independent gym along with the playground so that the interest of sports can be awakened among the youth.
Ten lakh rupees to each player participating in the Olympics
To promote sports, the state government will give Rs 10 lakh to each player participating in the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo (Japan) this year. 10 players from UP will go to Tokyo to participate in various events. The government has decided to give Rs 3 crore to the player who brings gold medal in team sports in the Olympics to be held in Tokyo, Rs 2 crore for silver and Rs 1 crore for bringing bronze.
44 hostels for training 16 sports in 19 districts
The state government is giving a lot of help to the sportspersons in UP regarding the mission ‘Khelo a lot – Badho a lot’. To improve the game, arrangements have been made for better training of the players. Specialist coaches have been appointed to impart training. Along with increasing the convenience of the players in the hostels, construction of new stadium has also been done expeditiously. The Yogi government has built 44 hostels in 19 districts for the training of 16 sports. The amount for sports kit has been increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 2500.
