Auckland in New Zealand is the best city in the world to live in. Last time Austria’s Vienna has slipped to 12th place. Syria’s capital Damascus, Bangladesh’s Dhaka and Pakistan’s Karachi are also among the worst 10 cities. This information has come out in the 2021 ranking of the Economist Intelligence Unit.
Countries that kept the epidemic under control have shown improvement. This is the reason that 8 out of 10 cities with the biggest decline are in Europe. In this list, cities are ranked on the basis of sustainability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
7 out of 10 cities score 100 out of 100 in healthcare
The biggest impact on the ranking of cities has also been the strategy adopted on the epidemic. This is the reason why 7 of the 10 best cities to live in got 100 out of 100. These include Osaka, Tokyo in Japan and Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne in Australia. The other two are Geneva, Zurich.
