Fox will not play due to hamstring injury
Earlier last week, England’s head coach Chris Silverwood included Kent wicketkeeper batsman Sam Billings and Nottinghamshire’s top order batsman Haseeb Hameed in England’s squad. Surrey regular wicketkeeper Ben Foakes suffered a left hamstring injury ahead of the county match against Middlesex. Because of this he was not included in the team.

Billings and Hameed found place in Test squad
England regular player Billings will play Test for the first time in limited overs cricket. At the same time, Hameed had performed brilliantly in the county and he got the reward for this. In the 2021 season in county cricket, he scored 474 runs at an average of 52.66. He has played Tests for the England team in the past as well. He played the last Test in 2016. He played 3 Tests against India in 2016.

The spectators were allowed to watch the test match in the stadium.
The second Test between England and New Zealand will be played at Edgbaston from June 10. The ECB has also allowed fans to enter the stadium for both the Tests. During the second Test at Edgbaston, 70% or 18000 fans will be able to watch the match. However, they will also have to bring a negative report of the Corona investigation for this. After this series, the New Zealand team will play the World Test Championship final against India.
