After the cancellation of CBSE 12th examination by the central government, now the 10th and 12th board examinations have been canceled in Rajasthan as well. This decision was taken on Wednesday after brainstorming in the Gehlot cabinet meeting. This time 21 lakh 60 thousand 217 students had applied for both the board exams.

12 lakh 14 thousand 512 are the candidates who have applied for the 10th class examination. 1763 students applied for the tenth deaf and dumb examination. 48 thousand 846 candidates applied for the 10th Vocational Examination. 8355 students applied for the entrance exam. A total of 8 lakh 82 thousand 112 candidates applied for the 12th examination. For the 12th Deaf and Deaf examination, 809 students have applied and for the Senior Upadhyaya examinations, 3823 candidates have applied.

Giving information after the meeting, Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara said that in view of Corona, the 10th and 12th examinations should not be conducted. After the cancellation of board examinations, other options were also discussed in the meeting to prepare the results. However, it is not yet clear whether the board will prepare the results of the students on some basis. Earlier, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had suggested the state governments to postpone the board examinations. After the suggestion of Priyanka Gandhi, it was believed that the Gehlot government can take a decision accordingly.

Examination was to be held from May 6, postponed to April 14
According to the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) 10th and 12th board exam time table, the examinations were to start from May 6, but due to Corona, it was decided to postpone the examinations only on April 14. The 10th examinations lasted for 22 days i.e. 27 May. At the same time, the 12th examinations were to be held for 24 days i.e. till 29 May. The timings for all the exams were kept from 8.30 am to 11.45 am.

Exams are held at more than 6000 centers

The board had made a total of 6046 centers for these examinations. Of these, 80 examination centers were identified as sensitive and vulnerable. A total of 53 examination centers were sensitive and 27 examination centers were very sensitive. The board had set up 60 centers across the state for the collection of answer sheets. According to sources, the Rajasthan Board has got the answer sheets and pamphlets prepared. Now all these have become useless. The board has spent crores of rupees on these.

Board exams were delayed last year, 3 lakh students failed
Board exams in 2020 were delayed due to Corona. About three lakh students who appeared in class 10th and 12th could not pass. In class 10th, 2 lakh 23 thousand 156 students failed despite appearing in the examination. At the same time 53 thousand 99 students failed in 12th arts, 1989 in commerce and 19 thousand 73 students failed in science. That is, a total of 74 thousand 221 students could not pass in class 12th. The special thing is that there were more applicants than those who appeared in the examination. Despite this, the total number of those who failed despite appearing in the examination was 2 lakh 95 thousand 577. There were about 50 thousand students who did not appear in the examination after applying.
