Kanta Prasad, the owner of the famous Baba Ka Dhaba of the capital Delhi, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night. According to the police, he had attempted suicide. He fainted after consuming alcohol and sleeping pills. The statement of his son has been recorded. At present, his treatment is going on at Safdarjung Hospital.

In December last year, 80-year-old Kanta Prasad started a new restaurant in Malviya Nagar, Delhi. He also named it ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ and it was near his stall. After a few days, he had to close this restaurant. He cited financial constraints as the reason.

He had told that the restaurant had to be closed on 15 February. It was costing one lakh rupees to run it and we had to pay 36 thousand rupees to the employees. Its rent was 35 thousand rupees per month. We were losing it, so it was necessary to close it.
