The 24-man team captained by Virat Kohli leaves for England.
The Indian men’s team and women’s team will leave for England on a chartered flight on Thursday morning. The team led by Virat Kohli is scheduled to play against New Zealand in the World Test Championship final in Southampton from June 18 to 22. After that the men’s team also has to play a five-match series against England in August-September. The Indian men’s team will prepare for the series by staying in England after the final of the World Test Championship. Women’s and men’s cricket teams will stop at different places
Both the teams were following strict quarantine rules at a hotel in Mumbai since May 19, which ended on Tuesday. On Thursday, both the teams will land at Heathrow Airport in London. After this Virat’s team will leave for Southampton and Mithali’s team will leave for Bristol.
For the first 3 days, there will be corona test of Virat and team 3 times.
The men’s team will arrive after a 3 hour journey from London to Southampton by bus. There the team will be quarantined for the next 10 days. According to the ICC, for the first 3 days i.e. till June 5, the players will also be tested for corona 3 times. After every negative report, they will be allowed to exercise in isolation.
Players are allowed to train in small groups from June 6
No player will be allowed to leave their hotel room for the first 3 days. From June 6, the players of the team will be able to train in the field in small groups. However, they will only be allowed to go from hotel to ground and from ground to hotel.
In the hotel too, they will be able to leave the room only for work out. The 10-day quarantine will end on June 12. After this Virat’s team can do full training. However, for this, the team will get only 5 days before the final.
New Zealand and Team India will stay in the same hotel in Southampton
Arrangements have been made for New Zealand and Team India to stay in the same hotel in Southampton. The final match will be held from 18 to 22 June. At the same time, June 23 has been kept as a reserve in case the five-day game is interrupted due to rain. ICC wants the match to be of full 5 days.
