Domestic gas customers will soon be able to get gas refilled from their preferred distributor. That is, if you have an Indane gas connection, then you will be able to get the empty cylinder refilled from the distributor of Bharat Gas.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas will soon launch it as a pilot project in Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi. If the scheme is successful in these cities, it will be implemented in other cities of the country as well.
Option will be available on mobile app or customer portal
Customers will get the option while booking LPG refill through the mobile app or the customer portal. It will also show the ratings of the distributors. Customers will be able to choose any distributor in their area to take delivery of LPG refills.
The rule of taking cylinder without address proof applies
The country’s state-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) recently implemented the rule of taking LPG cylinders without address proof. Earlier it was very difficult to get a new connection without proof of address, but with this rule of the government, now any customer can take a new connection without proof.
