The condition of 91-year-old Milkha Singh, the country’s great athlete battling Kovid-19 infection, is stable but his wife and former India volleyball captain Nirmal Kaur’s condition has deteriorated. It has been told on behalf of PGI that Milkha Singh is better than the previous day. On Thursday, he was brought to the hospital after the oxygen level dropped. According to a PGI spokesperson, based on his medical parameters, his condition is better and stable than before. A team of three doctors is monitoring him. A video clip has been released by the Director of PGI, Dr. Jagat Ram, saying that his condition remains stable and is under the supervision of the team of doctors. But on the other hand his wife’s condition has deteriorated a bit and she is feeling more in need of oxygen.

He was in the army for some time, but due to his inclination towards the sport, he took part in cross country running. More than 400 soldiers ran in it. Milkha came at number 6.
Government of India honored with Padma Shri
Participated in the 1956 Olympic Games held in Melbourne. Could not do anything special, but opened the way for further competitions. He set several records in the 200 and 400 meters at the National Games held in Cuttack in 1958. In the same year, he won gold medals in the 200m, 400m events at the Asian Games held in Tokyo and the 400m race in the Commonwealth. Seeing his success, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri.
