The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved China’s second corona vaccine. WHO has approved Sinovac Biotech’s vaccine Coronavac for emergency use. According to experts, this vaccine can be administered to people above 18 years of age. The difference between the first and second doses will be between 2 and 4 weeks.
In the midst of the corona epidemic, the vaccine has not yet reached many poor countries. In such a situation, this decision indicates that this vaccine can also be included in the WHO’s global vaccine program COVAX. This will meet the needs of vaccines in poor countries.
Let us know that India has also sent vaccines to more than 70 countries of COVAX, but after the second wave of Corona, the supply has been stopped. WHO now wants to fill this shortfall with vaccines from countries like China.
Earlier, Sinopharm’s vaccine was approved
Earlier, WHO has given permission for emergency use of Sinopharm’s Kovid-19 vaccine BBIBP-CorV made in China. The vaccine has been developed by Beijing Bio-Institute of Biological Products Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of the China National Biotech Group (CNBG).
Sinopharm’s vaccine is similar to the ‘Covaxin’ being made in India. Both these vaccines are made on the activated platform. The good thing is that covaxin is effective on many variants of the corona, while there is no information about the efficacy of the sinoform vaccine variants. Sinopharm is the first vaccine other than Western countries to be supported by the WHO.
