Women in the labor force 31%, this goal was to be achieved in Vision 2030.

Women in Saudi Arabia are now increasingly coming forward in many fields of business. 30,000 commercial registrations have been issued to women in the last 4 months. These are in wholesale, retail business, motor vehicle repairing as well as catering, new construction and many other sectors.

Al Arabiya News website has given this information quoting the Saudi Ministry of Commerce. This rapid growth appears to be carrying forward the trend of last year. In 2020 one lakh registrations were issued during the last full year.

Women coming forward in many fields
Due to the winds of liberalism in Saudi, women are coming forward in many such areas, which have been traditionally considered to be dominated by men. Along with this, global consulting firm KPMG has published ‘Female Leaders Outlook’ for the first time in Saudi Arabia.

In this survey conducted last year, 675 women leaders from 52 countries including Saudi Arabia are included. Khaled Moussa, Saudi Arabia’s first female partner at KPMG, says that increasing digitization in the coronavirus has helped a lot and has accelerated in many areas. According to the survey, 47% of Saudi women leaders have said that the pandemic will not affect the pace of diversity and inclusion.

Women’s participation doubled in 5 years

According to a survey of Saudi Arabia’s labor market, the participation of women in the third quarter of 2020 increased to 31.3%. It was 26% at the end of 2019. This figure has doubled in the last 5 years. Saudi Arabia had set a target of 30% which it has already achieved 10 years ago.
