placenta Ekadashi fast story: In ancient times there was a king named Mahidhwaj who was very pious. His younger brother was very cruel and unrighteous. One day he killed his elder brother Mahidhwaj in the night. He buried the body of Mahidhwaj under a peepal tree in the forest. Due to premature death, King Mahidhwaj started living on the same peepal as a spirit soul. The spirit created a lot of disturbance there. One day a sage named Dhaumya was passing under that peepal. There he saw the ghost. The sage, through his tapobal, came to know the reason for the misery of the ghost. He brought that phantom down from the Peepal tree and preached the knowledge of the afterlife.
The sage himself kept a fast on Apara Ekadashi to get rid of that king from the yoni. By whose virtue the king got freedom from the phantom vagina. He went to heaven after thanking the kind sage.
