The Indian women’s cricket team will play a Test match against England after 7 years. The Test match will start from June 16. The team is currently quarantined in Mumbai and will leave for England on 2 June. The BCCI also launched a new test kit for the women’s team. Seeing this, the team’s vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur and opener Jemima Rodrigues became emotional.
Harmanpreet said that the real challenge will be known only in the format of 4 days. The women’s team had earlier played the last Test against South Africa in 2014. At the same time, Jemima said that we will play this match for all girls who believe in cricket as their everything. Test match for women is of 4 days. Whereas, in men it lasts for 5 days.
Indian women’s team will play 2 test matches this year
The Indian women’s team has to play 2 Test matches this year. After England, the team will play the Day-Night Test for the first time in history against Australia from 30 September to 3 October. Harmanpreet said that we are lucky that we are getting a chance to play Test against some good teams. Tests reveal your skills and stamina. Conditions are also trickier than shorter formats.

“Practice not found before South Africa series”
Regarding the defeat in ODIs and T20 series against South Africa in March, Harmanpreet said that this year has not been good for us. Due to Corona, we did not stay in the routine and we did not even get practice before the series against South Africa. This was the first series for us after the 2020 T20 World Cup.

Women’s cricket team will also play ODI and T20 series
After a Test match, the Indian women’s team will play 3 ODIs against England from June 27 in Bristol, Taunton and Worcester. After this, the team will also play a 3-match T20 series from 9 July. These matches will take place in Northampton, Hove and Kemsford. The third T20 which was earlier to be held on July 15, will now be played on July 14.
