Australian cricketers, coaches, commentators and staff who arrived to participate in the IPL 2021 season have reached their respective homes after about 20 days. 38 players and staff including David Warner, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins were in the Maldives and then Australia for the last 3 weeks after IPL suspension. Today they all reached their respective homes and shared emotional photos on social media after meeting the family.

Cummins, Warner and several players arrived home after completing the quarantine period on Monday morning. Seeing him, the family became emotional and embraced him. The players shared the experience on social media and told that they had not met their family members for the last 2 months. Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Jason Behrendorff told News Corp that it is difficult to get stuck somewhere. Now that we have reached home, it is very relaxed. Warner wrote in a post on social media – Coming home and feeling fabulous.

Cummins’ pregnant partner Becky Boston, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders, cried after meeting him after two months. All the players will be able to stay at home for only 2-3 weeks. After this, the team will prepare for the tour of West Indies. However, according to Australian media reports, Cummins and Warner may be rested for the Windies tour. The Windies series will start from July 10 and the Australian team can leave for the Windies in the first week of July.
Steve Smith coming out of the quarantine period
According to sources, the remaining 31 matches of the IPL can be played from September 19. The BCCI has confirmed the remaining matches to be held in the UAE. However, it is also reported that many Australian players, including Cummins, are not playing. The England Cricket Board has already denied their players for the second leg.
The current season of IPL was suspended on 3 May after Corona reported. By then 29 matches had been played. However, by then, the Australian government had banned flights to and from India by 15 May. Because of this, Australian players, staff and coaches were flown to Maldives by BCCI on their chartered flights.

As of 15 May, the Australian contingent of 38 people remained quarantined in the Maldives. On 15 May, the BCCI once boarded all players, staff and coaches from its chartered flight to Sydney. There, everyone was quarantined in a hotel for 14 days. It was spent by the BCCI itself. After spending 14 days in Quarantine, everyone reached their respective homes today.
