The BJP has announced the National Team of Minority Front. On behalf of the party, 20 people have been given place in the National Front. In view of Uttar Pradesh elections, maximum 3 members are from Uttar Pradesh. 2-2 members from Bihar and Delhi have got a place in the National Front. Two names from Bihar include former Rajya Sabha MP Sabir Ali.
There was tremendous opposition in the BJP due to the arrival of Sabir
When Sabir Ali joined the BJP after being expelled from JDU, there was a tremendous protest against him within the BJP. Many BJP leaders from Bihar to the Center openly opposed the inclusion of Sabir Ali in the party. Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi even described Sabir Ali as a friend of terrorist Bhatkal. After the protest, the BJP had to withdraw its decision. The BJP expelled Sabir Ali from the party within 24 hours of giving membership. After being out of the BJP, Sabir Ali had also sued Naqvi for defamation, which was withdrawn by Sabir Ali after mutual reconciliation between the two leaders.
Sabir Ali joined BJP again in 2015
After months of controversy and the end of the Lok Sabha elections, Sabir Ali got a re-entry in the BJP. Keeping an eye on the minority vote before the Bihar assembly elections in 2015, the BJP gave Sabir Ali the membership of the BJP at the state office in Patna by Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav.
Sabir Ali and Mufti Abdul Wahab Kasami got the place
Two names from Bihar have got a place in the BJP’s Minority Front. Araria’s Mufti Abdul Wahab Qasmi has been made the National Vice President, while Sabir Ali, who joined the BJP in 2014, has been given the position of General Secretary in the Morcha. Sabir Ali was in JDU before BJP. He has also been a Rajya Sabha MP from JDU.
During the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, when JDU and BJP were contesting separately in Bihar and there was a period of strong opposition within JDU regarding Narendra Modi, Sabir Ali had praised Narendra Modi. After Sabir Ali’s statement in support of Narendra Modi, JDU expelled him from the party.
