The country’s aviation industry has been badly affected by the second wave of the Corona epidemic. Airline company SpiceJet has taken a big decision due to the huge drop in air traffic. Under this, employees will be given on the basis of working hours. However, the company will maintain the original limit while fixing the salary.

Heavy drop in passenger traffic
According to the email from the company’s Human Resources (HR), like last year, this time too the aviation industry has been badly affected by Corona. There was a huge drop in passenger traffic during the second wave. It fell to less than 10% against the pre-covid level.

Salary will be based on working hours
In view of the current situation, SpiceJet said that the company will make changes in its salary structure and pay the employees on the basis of working hours. During this time the original boundary will also be taken care of. The airline company further said that the salary of the employees for May will be transferred to their bank account on June 1. For some, 35% of the salary will be withheld.

Outstanding salary will be given in the second week of June
The company said that the withheld salary will be paid in the second week of June. During this period, the amount of salary is less, full payment will be made. At present, the possibility of an increase in air traffic is unlikely, as the DGCA has halted the flight of International Passenger Flights till June 30 due to the situation of corona infection. The Ministry of Civil Aviation can operate only 50% of domestic flights operated in pre-Kovid from June 1, while 80% are currently allowed.
