Petrol and diesel prices have risen for the 11th consecutive day. Today, the price of petrol increased by 31 paise. The price of diesel rose by 33 paise. With this, petrol in Delhi reached Rs 90.19 and diesel Rs 80.60. Petrol has become costlier by Rs 3.24 a liter for 10 consecutive days in Delhi, while the price of diesel has increased by Rs 3.49 per liter.
Petrol price crosses 91 in major cities
However, petrol now crosses Rs 91 per liter in major cities of the country. Diesel crosses Rs 85 per liter. Crude oil prices, however, moderated yesterday and remained steady at $ 64 a barrel. At present, oil prices are at an all-time high in the country.
Oil became expensive for 23 days
Petrol has become expensive for 23 days in January and February, but it has become expensive by Rs 6.38 in these days. Petrol in Mumbai has reached Rs 96.62. Diesel price also increased by Rs 6.73
Along with petrol, the price of diesel is also making a record. Diesel has become costlier by Rs 6.73 per liter during 23 days in the new year. In Bhopal, it is selling at a price of Rs 88.84. In just 10 months, its price has increased by about 17 rupees.
32.90 is the excise duty
Let us know that the government is currently levying excise duty of Rs 32.90 on one liter of petrol. Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had said in Parliament that there is currently no idea to reduce excise duty on petroleum products. For the first time since the Kovid crisis in the global market, the price of crude oil has gone up to $ 65 per barrel. India buys about 80% of petroleum needs from abroad.
