The passport of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif, who was undergoing treatment in London for about one and a half years, expired today. The Imran Khan government has refused to renew Nawaz’s passport. However, it is definitely said that if they want to return to the country, they will get the approval within 72 hours.

Before leaving for Britain, Nawaz was in jail on charges of corruption. He was given permission to go to London after the intervention of the Supreme Court when his health deteriorated. Now the Government of Pakistan is demanding Britain to send them to the country. The UK government has turned down all three demands for Nawaz’s extradition.

If you want to return to the country, you will not stop
Pakistan’s Home Minister Sheikh Rashid said on Tuesday – Nawaz is in the exit control list. He was given a special permission to go to London. Now his passport has expired. Now if Nawaz Sharif wants to return to the country, we will not stop. His name is on the no-fly list, so he will neither be issued a new passport nor renewed an old one. Yes, if they are willing to return, it will be arranged in 72 hours.

Rashid alleged that Nawaz made an excuse for illness to go out of the country and was late, but his extradition is possible. He betrayed both the government and the court. Rashid said- I confess that I had supported him when he spoke in the Cabinet to allow Nawaz to go abroad.

Extradition is not easy
Extradition from the UK is not easy, as its process there is quite complex and lengthy. Imran Khan’s special assistant Shahzad Akbar has visited Britain three times. He talked to the British government about sending Nawaz to Pakistan, but failed. The legal bets have also failed three times. The court there termed it as an unnecessary demand. Nawaz’s lawyer had said in court – in Pakistan my client is being made a victim of political vendetta. The charges against him are also politically motivated.

Passport expires, what will happen now
‘Geo News’ spoke to UK immigration experts about this. He said – Nawaz Sharif can stay in Britain for a long time. They have many options. It does not matter that his passport has expired. Nawaz can stay in London even if the Pakistan government cancels or cancels it. They do not even need to seek asylum. He has all the documents related to the disease and it is an epidemic. So they can get approval to stay here only through an application.
