Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of Assam on February 7.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give many gifts to Assam. He will inaugurate the ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’ project through video conferencing here. Under this project, the Ro-Pax vessel will be able to operate between Neemati-Majuli Island, North Guwahati-South Guwahati and Dhubri-Hatsingimari. Currently, about 680 kilometers have to travel to cover the distance of these areas via road. With the start of this project, this distance will be reduced to just 43 kilometers.


What will Assam benefit from the ‘Mahabahu-Brahmaputra’ project?

  • The distance of about 420 kilometers between Nemati and Majuli will be reduced to only 12 kilometers.
  • The distance of about 40 kilometers between North and South Guwahati will be reduced to just 3 kilometers.
  • The distance between Dhubri and Hatsingimari to MV Bob Khating will be reduced by 220 kilometers to only 28 kilometers.
  • Small industries here will also benefit greatly. In a short time he will be able to transport his goods from one place to another.

Will lay the foundation for these projects

  • Dhubri will lay the foundation stone of Phulbari Bridge.
  • Majuli will perform Bhoomipujan for the construction of the bridge.
  • The foundation stone for the International Water Transportation (IWT) terminal will be in Jogighopa.
  • The Brahmaputra will introduce a variety of tourism points on the river.
  • Digital Problem Solving System for Ease of Doing-Business will be launched.

Elections to be held in Assam this year
Assembly elections are due in Assam this year. In such a situation, the BJP government at the Center has exerted full force. There is still a BJP government in Assam. In such a situation, the party is trying its best to retain this victory this time too. This is the reason that within the last 10 Prime Ministers will address the people of Assam for the second time. Earlier, he attended an event held in Assam on 7 February. Apart from Assam, assembly elections are due in West Bengal, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala this year.
