Rajasthan Of Udaipur From Almost 80 Kilometer away is Kamal Nath Shiva Of this Tample: For your information, let us know that this temple of Kamal Nath Mahadev is located on the hills of Awargarh, about 80 km from Udaipur in Rajasthan. According to the Puranas, this temple was founded by Lankapati Ravana himself. It is also believed that this is the place where Ravana cut off his head and dedicated it to Lord Shiva and put it in the fire pit. Then, pleased with this devotion of Ravana, Lord Shiva had made Amrit Kund in the navel of Lankapati Ravana. There is also a belief about this temple that if Lord Shiva is worshiped without worshiping Ravana, then the person does not get the fruit of that worship.
Despite this, Ravan’s devotion to Lord Shiva did not diminish at all. He used to come to Lanka to worship this Shivling daily and would also offer 100 lotus flowers daily. In this sequence, when the worship of Ravana was nearing success, Brahma ji disappeared one of the lotus flowers one day. On this Ravana offered his head to Lord Shiva instead of a lotus flower.
Pleased with this devotion of Ravana, Lord Shiva made Amrit Kund in the navel of Ravana and gave this place the name of Kamal Nath Mahadev. Since then Ravana began to be worshiped before worshiping Lord Shiva in this temple.
