Swedish company IKEA (IKEA) selling affordable furniture is going to open its first shopping mall in India. This shopping mall will be constructed in Noida adjacent to Delhi. For this, the Noida Development Authority has also allotted land to the company.
The company will invest 5000 crore rupees
According to the information, this shopping center of IKEA will be the largest in the world. It will be constructed in 48 thousand square meters of land. For this, the company will invest 759 million dollars, about 5 thousand crore rupees. This shopping center will be constructed in Sector 51 of Noida. The shopping center will have offices, hotels and retail outlets in addition to shopping malls.
Construction will be completed by 2025
The government and IKEA had been in talks for about 2 years to build a shopping center in Noida. But it has taken more than two years to finalize it. IKEA officials say that by 2025 construction of this shopping center will be completed. That is, from 2025, people from Noida and nearby will be able to shop from IKEA stores. Construction of this shopping center will provide employment to about 1 thousand people.
IKEA opened first store in 2018
Swedish company IKEA opened its first store in India in 2018. The store was opened in Hyderabad. The company then opened its second store in Mumbai in 2020. The company will have its third store and first shopping mall in Noida. The company said in a statement that it will soon give detailed information about the project. The company has so far invested 7 thousand crores in India.

IKEA has about 45 shopping malls all over the world. These shopping malls are located in Europe, Russia and China. Now the company plans to enter the US in 2021. The company says that customers have started visiting its stores and malls since October following the Kovid-19 restrictions.
