Kerala currently has a CPI (M) government. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has also previously refused to implement CAA in the state.

Home Minister Amit Shah has been retaliated by Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Vijayan said that he would not implement the Citizenship Law (CAA) in his state. Vijayan told the media, ‘Some people have started talking about citizenship law. The Union Home Minister is saying that after the vaccination is over, the work of landing the CAA will be started. We had earlier clarified our stand on this and are saying once again that we will not implement it in Kerala. Two days ago, on Thursday itself, Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a gathering in West Bengal, announced the implementation of CAA.

Shah said, will apply after vaccination
Addressing a rally in West Bengal on Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that, after Corona’s vaccination, the citizenship law in the country will be brought to the ground. Shah said, the Modi government at the Center had brought citizenship laws keeping in mind the religious minorities of neighboring countries. I would like to mention that as soon as the process of Kovid vaccination ends, the process of granting citizenship under CAA will begin.

Amit Shah said that Mamta Banerjee has consistently opposed the CAA. She says that she will never allow it to be implemented in West Bengal but I assure that refugees will get citizenship. Shah said this while addressing the Matua community. The Matua community are Hindu refugees who have settled here after coming from Bangladesh.

Elections to be held in Kerala this year
Elections are to be held this year in 5 states including Kerala. In such a situation, in almost every state, BJP is strongly competing with opposition parties. Kerala currently has a CPI (M) government. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is an MP from here. In such a situation, BJP has made a plan to give a tough competition to Congress and CPI in Kerala as well.
