Competition seems to be intensifying with electric scooters Bajaj Chetak and TVS iCube. Last year, iCube sold a total of 290 units while Electric Chetak sold a total of 1337 units. However, the situation looks quite different this month. Last month, iCube overtook Chetak in terms of sales.
Not a single iCube was sold in January last year
Electric Chetak’s starting price is 1 lakh rupees
The Bajaj Chetak EV has a retro-inspired design, which looks quite attractive. It has a 3 kWh battery pack, paired with a 4.08 kW electric motor. The scooter can provide a range of 95 km in a single charge. It takes about 5 hours for the battery to be fully charged. Chetak is available in two variants. The Urban variant is priced at Rs 1 lakh while the premium variant is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh.
The price of TVS iCube is 1.15 lakh rupees
On the other hand, the TVS iCube offers a futuristic design. It has a 2.25 kWh battery pack, paired with a 4.4 kW electric motor. The scooter can provide a maximum range of 75 km in a single charge. The battery takes up to 5 hours to full charge. The iCube is available in only one variant, priced at Rs 1.15 lakh. (All ex-showrooms are prices)
