School Reopen Updates: As the cases of corona virus epidemic are decreasing in the country, now the normal life is returning on track. Gradually, but now states like Delhi-Tamil Nadu are ready to open schools again. Schools will be opened in the capital Delhi for class 10th and 12th from January 18. At the same time, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, the government has announced to start 10th and 12th class from 19 January. However, apart from these two states, many states of the country have already opened schools. Know what is the latest update of school opening in the country.


The Delhi government allowed schools located outside the Corona prohibited areas to open for students of 10th and 12th standard from January 18. The government has taken this decision in view of board examinations. However, the officials have clarified that students will be able to come to school only with the consent of their parents and it will not be compulsory to attend school. Schools are opening in the national capital after 10 months. Schools were closed in March last year to prevent the spread of corona virus infection and have been closed since then. The schools have been instructed to follow all the guidelines related to Kovid when the school opens.

Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswamy has announced that from January 19, schools will reopen for students of class X and XII and there will be no more than 25 students in each class. He said that this step is being taken keeping in mind the interest of the students (who are going to sit in many government exams during March-April) and they will be provided with vitamin and zinc tablets that increase immunity. He said that schools are allowed to run only these two classes by following the standard operating procedure of the government.

Uttar Pradesh-

In Uttar Pradesh, schools will be opened in a shift from class 9 to 12. Instructions have been issued for all schools of the state board. Now schools will open from 10 am to 3 am. Till now classes from class 9 to 12 were going on in two shifts. Please tell that here too the safety guidelines related to coronavirus are being strictly followed and teachers have ensured social distance among children.


Various educational institutions including schools, colleges, universities were opened in the state from January 3. However, classes are being conducted with half of the total students and other guidelines of corona virus are strictly followed. Educational institutions in the state were closed about nine months ago after the Kovid-19 epidemic.


In Gujarat, schools were reopened for 10th and 12th classes after being closed for nine months due to Corona virus epidemic. State Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama said that it would be mandatory for students, teachers and other employees to wear masks, follow proper distance and check the body temperature before admission to school-colleges. The management of the schools has been directed to strictly follow the standard operating procedure of the center to prevent the spread of Kovid-19.



Schools were closed for eight months in Goa due to the epidemic, but in November last year, the 10th and 12th classes were reopened, while the rest of the classes are being studied online. All the exams of the ninth and 11th class in the state will be completed by April 24, 2021 so that infrastructure and manpower can be available in the schools for the board exams starting from April 26.


Primary and secondary schools are still closed due to Kovid in Maharashtra. However, in a remote village of Jalna district, a teacher of Zilla Parishad School, through online studies, ensured that there is no obstruction in the education of his students. Classes of various subjects are being taken here through apps like Google Meet and WhatsApp. School-colleges are closed in the state since the lockdown in March 2020.


After a gap of nearly nine months, on Friday, Odisha schools strictly followed the Kovid-19 guidelines and reopened their classes for the students who are going to appear in their board exams soon. In order to meet the 100-day teaching target for the students of class 10th, 12th, the faculty members have made seating arrangements following the directions of social distance. Here the syllabus has been reduced by 30 percent and no further reduction will be done.


After about 10 months in the state, schools and pre-university (PU) colleges were opened for students of class 10th and 12th from January 1. Students of class VI to 9th are also allowed to visit their schools for Vidyagama program. The rules of sanitizer, thermal screening and social distance are being followed in schools of the state.


After months of closure in Punjab, schools for Classes V to XII reopened on Thursday, giving children the opportunity to return to classes after studying online for months. School officials said that they strictly followed the safety guidelines related to coronaviruses and teachers ensured social distance among children. Masks were also provided to children in some schools. School hours will be from 10 am to 3 pm.

Explain that after the corona virus epidemic, schools started taking online classes, so that children’s education was not affected. The Directorate of Education has now also instructed schools not to hold prayer meetings. Principals have been asked to tell the children not to share each other’s books and stationery (pens, copies etc.). Many states had partially reopened schools after October last year.
