Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attended the 8th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar. During this, he also inaugurated the 45 MW generation plant of Monocrystalline Solar Photo Voltaic Panel online. Addressing the convocation, the PM told the students that today you are entering the industry at a time when there are major changes happening in the energy sector all over the world due to the epidemic. In such a situation, there is immense growth, entrepreneurs and employment opportunities in the energy sector in India today.

Country moving towards reducing carbon footprint

He said that today the country is moving ahead with the goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 30-35%. It is our endeavor to increase the share of natural gas to 4 times its energy needs in this decade. The PM also told the students that it is not an easy thing to be a graduate at a time when the world is facing such a big crisis, but your abilities are much bigger than these challenges.


While telling the students about the success, the Prime Minister said that the same people succeed in life, the same people do something, in whose life there is a sense of responsibility. Failures are those who live under the burden of responsibility. A sense of responsibility also gives rise to a sense of opportunity in a person’s life.

2,600 students will get degrees

About 2,600 students will receive their respective degrees / diplomas through the ceremony. Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) was established as a private university through the State Act enacted on 4 April 2007. Which offers programs in the fields of science, technology, management and humanities.
