Before the war of Mahabharata, Pandavas had to suffer many kinds. The Pandavas had to live in anonymity for 13 years. During the unknown, the Pandavas had to change their identity and dress, during this time Arjun had to live as a Brihannala i.e. a eunuch.
Dharmaraja Yudhishthira met Yaksharaj when the Pandavas were living in unknown places. Which is described very effectively in the Mahabharata story. According to the legend, all the Pandavas died after drinking water from a pond. Finally, when Yudhishthira approaches this tank, he encounters a Yaksharaj.
Before drinking water, the Yaksha asks Yudhishthira some questions. The Yaksha asks Yudhishthira what is heavier than the Earth? Yudhishthira replied that mother is heavier than earth.
The Yaksha asks in the second question what is higher than the sky? Dharmaraja Yudhishthira said- Father’s stature is higher than the sky.
Yaksha next asked what moves faster than air? Yudhishthira said that the speed of the mind is faster than air.
Yaksha asked whose number is greater than the straw. Yudhishthira said that the number of worries is more than the straw.
Yaksha asked, who does not mind the eyes even after sleeping? On this, Yudhishthira said that the fish does not shut eyes even on gold.
In this way, Yudhishthira gives correct answers to all the questions of Yaksha. Pleased with this, Yaksha makes all the brothers alive from Yudhishthira and allows him to take a drink.
