Lucknow: The UP government has set a new record of revenue growth by registering 177 lakh liters of production of sanitizer during Kovid-19 period. According to the Excise Department data, the state’s sugar mills and small units have produced a record quantity of 177 lakh liters of sanitizer from 24 March to 15 November 2020. This has earned the government a revenue of Rs 137 crore, which is a record.
165.39 lakh liters sold
According to Excise Department, 78.38 lakh liter sanitizer has been sold outside UP. At the same time, a total of 87.01 lakh liters of sanitizer has been sold in UP. In this way, total sales of sanitizer have been 165.39 lakh liters.
Set a new record
Additional Chief Secretary Excise Sanjay R. Bhusreddy said that following the mantra “Opportunities in disaster”, the Excise Department made timely production of sanitizer. Also, ensure timely availability of sanitizer in the market. For this reason, UP has set a new record in revenue generation from sanitizer.
What the figures say
According to the data, sanitizer production has yielded GST revenue of Rs 12,848 lakh and license fee of Rs 794.28. Whereas, the revenue received from decentralization is Rs 21.18 lakhs. Along with income, it has also proved to be an effective weapon against corona infection.
