Many local political parties of Jammu and Kashmir have got together through People’s Alliance for Guptkar Declaration.
Political stir has once again intensified in Jammu and Kashmir. The People’s Alliance for Group Declaration (PAGD) will also field its candidates in the District Development Council (DDC) elections starting November 28. The Alliance announced this on Saturday. PAGD is headed by Farooq Abdullah, the chairman of the National Conference.
The people of Jammu and Kashmir are angry with the decision of the Central Government
Sajjad Lone of the alliance said, “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are angry about the decision of 5 August 2019. People are angry. We met the common people after the formation of the People’s Alliance for Group Declaration. From civil society met members, political parties, Gurjar-Bakarwal communities, SC-ST leaders. All the upcoming DDC and Panchayat elections are said to be contested together. The fight will continue till the special status of Jammu and Kashmir is returned from the BJP and the central government. ”
These political parties will fight elections together in PAGD
PAGD is supported by National Conference, PDP, CPI (M) and Awami National Conference. Therefore, all these parties will jointly contest the elections of DDC and Panchayat. However, it is not yet decided how many candidates will be fielded from which party. On the other hand, the Congress has also decided to contest the DDC elections. Congress state president GA Mir said, “The Congress will field its good candidates in the upcoming DDC elections to fight against the wrong and unconstitutional policies of the BJP which annoys the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The BJP will be taught a lesson.”
BJP candidates will also be in the fray, calling Gupakar as Gappa-Kar
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also decided to contest the DDC elections. The party’s national general secretary Tarun Chugh said that we will field our candidates on all seats. Chugh said that this election will strengthen democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. People will be able to choose their representative. He further termed the Gupta agreement as ‘Gappa-Kar’. Said that the secret is ‘gappa-car’. His Mungeri Lal dreams are never going to come true. Abdullah & Sons and Mufti & Sons have looted the resources of Jammu and Kashmir.
