Gold delivered in December rose 1.17 percent to Rs 51,413 per 10 grams

  • Gold was trading 0.94% higher at $ 1,914.00 an ounce in New York.
  • Silver was trading 2.41% higher at $ 24.47 an ounce in New York.

On Thursday, speculators strengthened their hold on the demand for gold in the futures market, due to which the price of gold rose by Rs 593 to Rs 51,413 per 10 grams. On the other hand, silver rose by Rs 1,338 to Rs 62,727 per kg due to strong demand in futures trade.

Rise in gold prices
Gold delivered in December rose by Rs 593, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 51,413 per 10 grams at the Multi Commodity Exchange with a turnover of 12,409 lots. Gold was trading 0.94% higher at $ 1,914.00 an ounce in New York.

Silver price rise
Silver for the December delivery rose by Rs 1,338, or 2.18 per cent, to Rs 62,727 per kg at the Multi Commodity Exchange with a turnover of 14,663 lots. Silver was trading 2.41% higher at $ 24.47 an ounce in New York.

The decline was on Wednesday
On Wednesday, the price of gold delivered in December at the Multi Commodity Exchange fell by Rs 388, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 51,210 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 12,755 lots. At the same time, silver for the December delivery at the Multi Commodity Exchange was down by Rs 1,506, or 2.4 per cent, to Rs 61,179 per kg, with a turnover of 13,896 lots.
