The World Test Championship final is to be played at Lord’s from 10 to 14 June next year.
The first edition of the World Test Championship has been hampered one by one. After the worsening schedule due to Corona, the crisis at the historic lords is now clouded. According to sources, due to lack of financial agreements between the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), such situations are being created.
Talking to a news agency, the sources associated with the case said that negotiations are going on between the ICC and the ECB. Things do not seem to be getting better at the moment.
Necessary solution to financial problems
According to sources, we are thinking of holding the final of the World Test Championship at Lord’s from 10 to 14 June next year. It is too early to say more about this. There are some financial problems in the case, which need to be resolved as soon as possible. Only then can the finals be organized at Lord’s. Right now the final crisis is clouded.
Impaired math due to Corona
Corona has already messed up the schedule of the first edition of the World Test Championship. Several chains have had to be canceled due to the epidemic. Cricket has started again with great difficulty. In view of this, the ICC announced a change in the points system on Thursday.
Finalists will be decided with points percentage
The ICC will now decide the top-2 team based on percentage points. The ICC accepted the recommendations of the Cricket Committee under the chairmanship of Anil Kumble on the matter and now the new ranking will be decided on this basis only. In the new ranking, Australia has come on top and India has come at number two.
ICC Chief Executive Manu Sahni said that both the Cricket Committee and the Chief Executive Committee have supported this new system. This will not harm the teams that do not play Tests due to Corona. We considered several options, but the committee found this option to be the best.
