Chhath Puja is being performed today in various states of the country amid restrictions. Public worship has been banned in rivers and ponds due to the third wave of Corona in the capital Delhi. Similarly the situation is similar in some other states including Maharashtra and Odisha. In states where there are no restrictions, people are arriving at temporary ghats to pay for the setting sun.
In Kolkata, the Municipal Corporation has built 16 temporary ghats for Chhath Puja. During this, special care has been taken not to get too crowded. About 44 makeshift ghats have been built here. Many women also worshiped at Assi Ghat in Banaras.
