In Patna, devotees arrived at the Ganges ghats by garnishing fruit, snacks, and saffron on soup. They were offered to the sixth maiya. The devotees offered Arghya to the setting sun. Arghya will be offered to the rising sun tomorrow morning.

Crowd thronged the ghats of Patna. People were seen wearing masks but did not see social distancing. Chaat and Golgappe shops adorned the ghats. The phase of selfie also continued continuously. People also celebrated Chhath festival in the ponds built in the city’s parks. In most places the festival was also celebrated on the roof of houses and apartments. The administration in Patna appealed to the people to celebrate Chhath at home. But there is not enough space in everyone’s house to celebrate Chhath. In such a situation, people also went to the ghats. The administration has declared 24 ghats of Patna as dangerous. In such a situation, devotees were not allowed to take the car to the ghat. Devotees had to walk 2–2 km away at several ghats. Parking of vehicles, problems of jam were also seen.

Chhath connecting everyone
There are neither priests nor chants on the ghats of rivers. There is no one between Vrati and Lord Surya. Chhath is the direct communication of the devotee and God. After offering arghya to the setting sun today, arghya will be offered to the rising sun next morning. In this four-day festival, women have fasted for 36 hours. Chhath is a Mahaparva connecting all castes and religions and its view was clearly visible on the Ghats.
