Corona is once again frightened. After decreasing its new cases for a few days, now again new cases are increasing rapidly. On Thursday, 47 days later, new cases of recovery in the country increased. On Thursday, 46,185 cases were reported across the country. 45, 246 patients recovered. There were 583 deaths. The result was a 343 increase in the active case. The number of active cases in the country was decreasing since 3 October.

In such a situation, the question arises whether a second wave of coronavirus has arrived in the country? It is too early to answer any of this. In June, WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan had said, a second wave of corona could come, as the virus is still present in the community.

The second wave is coming in the epidemic, it is detected that at first the cases increased rapidly, then started decreasing, but then the cases started increasing rapidly. Now in our country, the graph looks like this. On September 16, new cases began to decline after the peak. On November 16, the country had the lowest number of 28,555 new cases reported in a single day. But since then, cases have started growing again.

Why is the second wave of Corona afraid?

  • Some experts say that the risk of a second wave of corona in the country has increased, as new cases have started rising again after several days of decline in cases. New case increases mean active case increases and recovery rate incidence.
  • The country reached the peak on 16 September. The highest number of 97 thousand 860 new cases were reported that day. But, after that the cases started to decrease. After the peak, on November 16, the least 28 thousand 555 cases were reported. However, on 19 November, 46 thousand 185 infected people were exposed.

  • Apart from this, the situation has started deteriorating in many states. The third wave of Corona has arrived in Delhi. Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has also said that there is a third wave going on here. Which means that the situation was in June, now the same situation has happened again. Apart from Delhi, the danger of second wave is increasing in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Haryana.

What are governments doing to avoid the second wave?

The central government has formed teams of health experts, who will go to Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Manipur to monitor the conditions there. The Central Government has asked all the states to take necessary steps to control the corona.

  • Madhya Pradesh: In districts where the positivity rate is more than 5%, there will be night curfew from 10 am to 6 am.
  • Rajasthan From November 21, Section-144 will be applicable in all districts. Instructions have been issued to strictly follow it.
  • Delhi The fine was increased from Rs 500 to Rs 2000 for those who did not apply fine. The hotspot area has been banned.
  • Gujarati In the biggest city Ahmedabad, curfew has been imposed from 9 pm on November 20 to 6 am on November 23.
  • Haryana More than 300 children infected as school opened. It will remain closed till 30 November. There will be 30 thousand tests daily.

Two reasons for increased risk of second wave of corona

1. Festive Season: Navratri in October and Diwali in November led to a rush in the markets. This spread the infection. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal says that during Diwali, the negligence of people in the markets came to light. Neither people put on masks nor followed distancing while shopping.

2. Winter: Scientists had already expressed concern that corona cases may increase rapidly during the winter season. A NITI Aayog report also mentioned that corona could be dangerous in winter. It happened. Winters have started in the country since November and Corona cases have started increasing again from this month.
