Corona is once again frightened. After decreasing its new cases for a few days, now again new cases are increasing rapidly. On Thursday, 47 days later, new cases of recovery in the country increased. On Thursday, 46,185 cases were reported across the country. 45, 246 patients recovered. There were 583 deaths. The result was a 343 increase in the active case. The number of active cases in the country was decreasing since 3 October.
In such a situation, the question arises whether a second wave of coronavirus has arrived in the country? It is too early to answer any of this. In June, WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan had said, a second wave of corona could come, as the virus is still present in the community.
The second wave is coming in the epidemic, it is detected that at first the cases increased rapidly, then started decreasing, but then the cases started increasing rapidly. Now in our country, the graph looks like this. On September 16, new cases began to decline after the peak. On November 16, the country had the lowest number of 28,555 new cases reported in a single day. But since then, cases have started growing again.
Why is the second wave of Corona afraid?
What are governments doing to avoid the second wave?
The central government has formed teams of health experts, who will go to Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Manipur to monitor the conditions there. The Central Government has asked all the states to take necessary steps to control the corona.
Two reasons for increased risk of second wave of corona
1. Festive Season: Navratri in October and Diwali in November led to a rush in the markets. This spread the infection. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal says that during Diwali, the negligence of people in the markets came to light. Neither people put on masks nor followed distancing while shopping.
2. Winter: Scientists had already expressed concern that corona cases may increase rapidly during the winter season. A NITI Aayog report also mentioned that corona could be dangerous in winter. It happened. Winters have started in the country since November and Corona cases have started increasing again from this month.
